Andrew Foster Lecture
I attended a lecture by the illustrator Andrew Foster today. I wasn't really that interested in his work all that much, but it was a really great experience to hear him talk. He was very blunt about a lot of things, and I actually started to appreciate his work and the symbolism involved. A lot of it was blatantly sexual, and he said as much himself, but yeah... it was enlightening to hear a professional illustrator speak his mind about things.

I got to attend a lecture by Waynne Thiebold last year and asked him how many bad paintings he had to make to get what he considered a good one. He laughed and said "Oh you are asking me my batting average" Then he said 100 to 1! That made me realize I should be less frustrated at myself. CM
Wow, that is a pretty cool thing to hear! Yeah, it sort of helps when you're getting angry about your own output. I read something the other day which helped too, it was something along the lines of 'one bad drawing a day is better than none at all', it really struck me.
